comic review: American Jesus hits singapore

i dunno bout the original 04 copy. but last two weeks, the reprinted trade was available for your buying pleasure. so of cos, i just had to check it out! 1stly, the cover is reddish like, not like the black cover i previously posted. dunno why is that so. but that in no way made my reading experience any better. i think black is slicker but thats just me. yup yup.

okay, So some punk realizes he can do anything the main man from the bible can do and he haves a hell of a time doing it. there you have your sypnosis. ah well, didnt love the book but liked it. it was an interesting read but nothing super awesome from Millar here. Its like you go to a magician show, you get the fancy schmancy tricks but thats what you go in expecting. the plot twist at the end was an eye opener though Millar did leave clues halfway in the book.

Peter Gross art was a little lazy with watercolors that seemed a little messy. and the line work was quite minimalist. but gives a feel good homely feeling to it though.

it was supposed to finish off as just one book and the story really feels completed. so i m quite interested in seeing Millar resurrecting (i just had to say it) the book for another shot at it. remember kids, its out this FALL!

wanted the movie was sucky for me but millar gave it the go ahead. and i m setting my standards high for kick-ass the movie just by the freaking photos. but after reading the book, i dont have any high expectations for a American Jesus film. its just a little bland compared to his other two works. but with hollywood, anything goes i guess. i supposed it will just be using its controversial nature to promote the film. think kevin smith's dogma.

and to those forum dickwads who keep saying that: Jesus again? Millar should write about muhammed. o wait, he doesnt have the balls.

FUCK YOU!

GAWD! there are really some irritating buggers out there.
