Movie Review: a mutant pool, deadpool?

so many corny lines in the movie on how they try to justify the codenames for the characters. caught this one yesterday over at the plaza sing. its kinda stinky that the entire cathay organisation doesnt screen this. so cant catch this bugger at the cathay, if u didnt know by now, my fav cinema.

Wolverine origins is a cut n paste job on years developing the character. even the wolverine kid and the logan as a nickname was only recently written cause wolverine was always meant to have a mysterious past. and you can see Frank Miller's run on the character with the line "i m the best at what i do. but what i do isnt very nice". sucky thing is now that sabretooth is his brother. and how can they say it ties nicely with the other x men movies when suddenly the sabretooth in the x men movie is nothing more than a douche? sure gavin hood is an award winning director picked by hugh jackman. but the lack of detail also kinda pissed me off. like, the part where weapon XI laser rips out the entire nuclear reactor they are standing on, the blast somwhow fails to penetrate through the others though it makes contact. and i didnt like emma frost. shes the hottie who is the white queen and replaces jean grey's spot in cyclops heart. so why is she so ugly? i like the little tidbit that there was a minor team up between her and cyclops. but the diamond effect is so fugly!

deadpool was hilarious and awesome is what ever short time he had on screen. notice how i said deadpool and not weapon XI bullshit. it started out okay and it all went to hell towards the end. wolverine or x men 3? i m not sure which is better. on 1 hand you have brett ratner and on the other, you have this pile of action crap. and yes, i saw all the glitchy scenes which you have claws on wolverine's hand on one scene and in the next, its gone. LOL! it really is sucky. and looks like my wait for the paying cgi enhanced version is worth it afterall. nevertheless, i just hope that the next wolverine sequel (which is highly possible) wil be much better without the messy display of random mutants.

oh yeah, and theres two version of endings after the movie. in between the credits, you get wiliam stryker following silverfox's command. and WAIT till after the credits roll for: Wolverine in a Jap Bar! or Deadpool stil alive and TALKING! wahahah! classic. too bad i got to see the wolverine version. Seeing deadpool on the big screen is deffinitely so much better. and i m not sure if singapore's other theatres show the deadpool version and i m not looking forward to enduring another 2 hours just to check. so heres the bad qulaity video of the deadpool ending:

Deadpool will be getting his own movie! thats the best thing to come out from this movie i guess.

x-men Origins: Wolverine: one scene

so i have been biased about my opinions regarding this film but whoa! this is enough to make me at least anticipate it a little.
i was right not to have seen the jialat version of the movie. and from my friends who watched it, they said that story-wise, it was merely so-so (afterall, what else can they judge? graphics?)

and i guess i ll just expect a helluva rollercoaster ride from the good ol runt!


and as reminded by MSN for no apparent reason, X-men Origins: Wolverine hits theatres next thursday!

Curse of Youtube: Cartoon intros

you know how you're sposed to do something but u remembered to find something on youtube and you keep clicking links till an entire hour is gone and you feel pleased with yourself? well, these were my symptons of this terminal youtubing disease:




from crazy and loony, u get dark and ominous tones. it always amuses me how the music goes along with the impact of the batarangs.


i really like the part where the the evil mutants and the x-men were heading towards each other for the final clash and the humans were like fleeing for their lives just in between them. so sweet. like they were just collateral damage.


i never really liked ironman cos of this. only until i read the comics that i thought ironman was coolio. The starting part has always bugged me. like what happens here: Mandrin shoots his purple juice over tony stark and proceeds to do so over stark's machine. then all of a sudden, Stark decides to get kinky and shows us a briefcase which is not a briefcase but is a SM outfit. Hell of an origin story. gay ironman! o yeah, and theres blacklash in here too. for those "i love Ironman cos of the movie and not cos of anything else" people.


didnt really watch this cartoon all that much cos of the series above. but i loved the song! guitar solo biatch!


My fav intro music of all! shit! probably my favourite cartoon from my childhood (not including 3d stuff like beast wars). kick ass guitars too!

X men Origins: spoiling it for you

i wasnt too keen on this movie, cos its Fox owned (fox are the arseholes who almost ruined it for the watchmen). but not only that, cos i also wasnt too impressed with the entire x-men franchise. and the trailers looks an awfully mish mash of the marvel universe. cameos here and there. and cyclops has no business in being wolverine's origin. bah! anyways, the spoilers here also clarifies the whole deadpool mess, if u have been updating yourself.

Deadpool - What’s Up?

* Ryan Reynolds plays Wade Wilson, the “comic-relief” of the team. On missions, he is a constant smart-ass, true to the character, and is constantly being told to “Shut up” by members of the team.
* Wade Wilson clashes almost immediately with both Logan and Sabretooth, to the point where they almost come to blows leading to Wilson drawing his swords.
* Spoiler: Stryker is creating the ultimate mutant hunter, Deadpool, to hunt and kill mutants, whom he blames for his wife’s murder. That mutant is Wade Wilson, who is given the optic blasts, healing power, retractable swords from his wrists, and the ability to teleport. This version of Deadpool is played by Scott Adkins, and he looks all warped and not like Ryan Reynolds because he is pulled out of the process early, before the transformation is complete, because Stryker needs to send him after Wolverine. Apparently Wolverine refers to this supermutant by the name “Wade” when telling him that, because his mouth is melded shut, someone finally managed to shut him up.

After the Credits

* What happens isn’t revealed, but there is something after the credits roll.

Story Spoilers

* As seen in the trailers and clips, Wolverine’s discovery of his mutant powers results in the death of his father, forcing him and his brother to flee.
* The story moves ahead to Vietnam, where Logan and Victor are members of a special forces unit made up mutants who do dirty work, something Victor excels at and embraces, distancing himself from Logan.
* Logan draws the line at killing civilians and walks away from the group, moving to Canada to be with Silver Fox.
* As revealed in the trailers, Sabretooth is sent to kill Silver Fox, which drives Wolverine into a rage. Since they have similar powers, it’s seemingly impossible for one to kill the other, so Logan volunteers for Weapon X, hoping to gain an edge to be able to finally kill Victor.
* Stryker is collecting mutants and keeping them prisoner, intent on taking their DNA to create his ultimate Hunter, Deadpool.
* Beak is killed by Sabretooth.
* When Wolverine finds out about Stryker’s imprisoning of the mutants, he sets out to free them but is told by Wraith (Will.i.am) that only one person knows where the facility is - Gambit, the only mutant to ever escape.
* Gambit takes Wolverine via plane (apparently he has a plane and is a pilot) to Three Mile Island, underneath of which is presumably the secret prison.
* Silver Fox is revealed to be alive, a plant to keep tabs on Wolverine. Her death was faked to send him into a rage to get him to volunteer for the Weapon X program. She betrayed him to protect her sister, a “diamond skinned” mutant who could be Emma Frost, aka the White Queen.
* Wolverine frees the mutants below the reactor and Deadpool is rushed out of his treatment early to fight Wolverine. The fight moves to the top of the reactors and Deadpool goes nuts, basically destroying everything around him. Sabretooth joins in the fight on Wolverine’s side because he wants to be the one to kill Wolverine himself. Deadpool gets his head cut off and a la Darth Maul is sent tumbling down into the reactor. Sabretooth and Wolverine separate, with Victor promising that they’re still enemies.
* Stryker then uses a “magic bullet” which is believed to be an adamantium bullet that strikes Wolverine’s skull with such force that it rocks his brain, causing his memory loss. Gambit rescues the amnesiac Wolverine from the facility.
* The freed mutants are seen running through the woods to freedom where they meet a bald headed mutant who’s voice is that of Patrick Stewart - Professor X.

ooo.. thats it. and still sounds pretty shitty to me. will just be catching it cos of the jazzy tittle. tra la la..
